Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter who was born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is the granddaughter of her mother. When she was just one, her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. She grew up in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and the following year, St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing as a child. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. She was invited to audition for Eurovision The Country That requires You which was a British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she decided to withdraw from the contest after just a few episodes because she didn't feel prepared. Ora released her first single in 2007 when she appeared in the Craig David song "Awkward" and then she made an appearance on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began singing in bars throughout London. A few days later, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z An A&R representative informed Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" from Drake. Ora was noticed by Jay-Z and he quietly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in the commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the proprietor of a pub and she started her singing career from that same pub. The singer cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence in the way she conducts herself and No Doubt's "Don't speak" (1996) as one of her top songs.Her video for Tezenis's, The Silk Code, is the title of a novel that was awarded the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel of 1999.She was seriously considered for the role of Iris West in Justice League (2017) before Kiersey Clemons was selected. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are good friends.
