Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor, director, and
musician. She has directed a number of episodes of TV, including Chicago Med
(2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She also was the Co-EP/Producing Director
on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and is currently directing two pilots in
the process of development. Milena was among eight filmmakers chosen by AFI's
prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the only Sony Pictures
Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable the short film she created, and
TV series proof of concept was shown at SXSW. It also won Best Episodic at the
Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International
Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) is screened all over
the country and won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark
Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena has appeared in over 100 television shows.
She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the
prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006),
which led to her being the first and only female detective in the Emmy-winning
show Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS),
Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama
Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or had her in. Milena was also seen
in a variety of films, like Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011),
opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She
was also in the film with Method Man. Milena is a native of Norman, Oklahoma
was the valedictorian in her high-school, but before that, she graduated with
two major vocal performances and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma.
She was also named valedictorian. After graduation she made the most of her
ballet and classical training to perform on Broadway in the production of Sam
Mendes and Rob Marshall of "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
