Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American celebrity chef on television as well as a former teacher of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can learn. Chef Burrell is also a part of various top eateries within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her following graduation with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she states. There was no way to be able to learn about, practice or do all the things I did. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy attending Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. Through her stay in Italy she learned to be aware of the history and concept behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression in her viewpoint. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador, where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the country in her role as a mentor and the guest speaker who discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne said she felt lucky to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with other people.
